Step-by-step guide

How it works

Follow the worksheets in order, using only the sections that apply to your celebration.

  1. Use Memories, Advice & Keepsake Plan and Prompt & Participation Planner to choose the responses that fit the guests and the celebration. Decide how people will participate and how finished responses will be collected.
  2. Print the selected Share a Memory Cards, Advice & Lessons Cards and Wishes, Hopes & Predictions Cards in the quantities needed. Guests can complete the prompts that suit them without being asked to fill every card type.
  3. Use A Story Worth Keeping Cards and Messages for a Future Moment for longer memories or messages intended to be revisited later. Identify the future occasion or storage intention before collecting them.
  4. Use Photo, Object & Memory Notes to record the story and context behind keepsakes so their meaning is not lost after the event.
  5. Complete Keepsake Station & Collection Setup Plan with the location, supplies, instructions and collection owner. Make the participation method easy for guests to understand.
  6. After the celebration, use Keepsake Collection & Preservation Log to account for the responses and objects and record where they are kept.
  7. Use Keepsake Curation & Future Revisit Plan to choose what to preserve, how to organize it and when to revisit it. Print extra copies of guest-response pages instead of duplicating the entire pack.
